For this project we managed to get a year 8 band who knew how to perform seven nation army by we recorded the audio first separatly as they played on stage, and then after we filmed each member of the band individually playing through their parts in front of a green screen.
In our class were assigned a different person/instrument to edit and to add the same effects as the original video essentially duplicating the Seven Nation Army music video.
In the video, there are black, red and white triangles with the members of the band attached and in front of them. I edited my part in Final Cut Pro, the first thing which i needed to do was import the footage into the software and then cut down the unnecessary parts so that all the clips we had were going to be used. From here we applied the keyer to the footage enabling us to achieve a black background making it translucent. I then checked the 'matte' and made sure that the lines were smooth, I then went into the colour section and increased the Chroma Roll Off, increasing it to 86%. This changed the number of intermediate pixels in between the band member and the transparent background.
I then added the threshold in the basic filter. For the lightest colours I brought down green and blue and kept red as the original lightness, achieving a cold effect. By doing this the colours also match the SIAN colour of the original music video. Then by increasing the intensity of the SIAN shade so the colours were intensified.
In the threshold I created a colour mask and selected the colour of red on the footage so that it would show colour on just the section instead SIAN on the whole of the footage.
Because I had issues with not only the parts that I wanted to bring red (the tie and guitar) but the bassists hand and hair turned red as well therefore I added another mask called a shape mask.
The first video is the original Seven Nation Army video and below that is our remade version.
